James H. Purtell

James H. Purtell passed away suddenly on Monday, February 26, 2018 at the age of 53. James was born on October 12, 1964 in Philadelphia to the late John and Helen Purtell. He is survived by his brother John (Joanne) and sisters Patricia Hines (Joe), Louise Aloisi (Thomas) and Evelyn Capecci (Patrick). He was the uncle of Joe, Helen, Michael, Regina, Thomas, Louise, Danielle, Johnny P., Johnny A., Alicia and their spouses. Also survived by many loving great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

James was an excellent ice hockey player, even being looked at by the Junior Flyers at one point. He also had a love for being the "DJ" for many years. Anyone who knew James knows that he loved to be the life of the party (which would get him into some trouble once in a while), but that was what made him who he was. He was also known for his funny and animated stories. James will be greatly missed but is at peace now.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. at Hollen Funeral Home, Inc., 3160 Grant Avenue (West of Academy Road), Philadelphia, PA. Memorial service at 11:00 A.M.
